Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SignupGadget ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

SignupGadget is a free online tool that allows users to create and share event sign-up sheets, party invitations, potluck coordination, volunteer schedules, and Secret Santa gift exchanges. The Service is provided "as is" without requiring user accounts or email registration.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use SignupGadget only for lawful purposes. You may NOT use the Service to:

  • Create events for illegal activities
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Distribute spam, malware, or malicious content
  • Impersonate others or provide false information
  • Collect personal information about others without consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape or access the Service
  • Create events containing hate speech, violence, or adult content

Event Content

You are solely responsible for the content of events you create, including titles, descriptions, and any information you provide. By creating an event, you represent that:

  • You have the right to share the information you provide
  • The content does not violate any laws or these Terms
  • The content does not infringe on anyone's rights

We reserve the right to remove any event that violates these Terms without notice.

Privacy of Event Links

Events are accessible to anyone who has the event link. While links are not publicly listed or searchable, you should:

  • Only share event links with intended participants
  • Use the "private event" and "join password" features for sensitive events
  • Understand that anyone with the link can view event details (unless password protected)

Organizer Responsibilities

If you create an event, you are the "organizer" and are responsible for:

  • Managing who receives the event link
  • Keeping your organizer password secure
  • Removing inappropriate sign-ups or content
  • Deleting the event when it's no longer needed

No Warranty

SignupGadget is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignupGadget and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or event information
  • Failed or incorrect Secret Santa assignments
  • Missed sign-ups or RSVPs
  • Any issues arising from event coordination

Service Availability

We strive to keep SignupGadget available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

  • Modify or discontinue features without notice
  • Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
  • Remove inactive events after extended periods

Advertising

SignupGadget displays advertisements to support the free service. By using the Service, you agree to the display of ads. We strive to keep advertising minimal and non-intrusive.

Intellectual Property

The SignupGadget name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or use our branding without permission.

You retain ownership of any content you create through the Service.

Termination

We reserve the right to block access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by simply not accessing it and deleting any events you've created.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
