Baby Shower Invitation & RSVP

Baby showers usually have more than one host โ€” a sister, a best friend, a coworker โ€” and a guest list that runs from great-aunts to the parents' college roommates. Keeping RSVPs on one page means every host sees the same headcount instead of comparing notes across three group chats.

This template sets up an invitation page where guests answer Going, Maybe or Can't make it, with one plus-one each and a message box for anything the hosts should know. Add the date, time and place, a line about where the parents are registered, and share the link. Guests reply in a few seconds without an account or email.

Hosting with co-hosts

When two or three people are hosting, decide early who owns invitations and RSVPs, food, decorations, games and gift-opening. Then:

  • One person creates the page. They become the organizer, who can edit details, post updates and export the guest list. List every host's name in the description so guests know who's throwing the shower.
  • Everyone watches one headcount. Co-hosts can open the same link to follow the replies. If you turn on "hide names", only the organizer sees the list, so print it or export it as a CSV for the other hosts.
  • Plan food from the attending total. It already includes plus-ones. Subtract anyone joining by video, then add a few extra servings for guests who come without replying.

The RSVP page doesn't connect to gift registries. If the page doubles as your invitation, replace the registry line in the description with the store and the name the registry is under, so guests have it alongside the date and address.

Including guests who can't be there in person

  • Ask video guests to RSVP like everyone else and write "joining by video" in their message, so you can take them out of the food count.
  • On the morning of the shower, post the video-call link as an update on the event page, where everyone who RSVP'd can find it.
  • Give one co-host the job of running the call: propping up the phone or laptop, checking the sound, and turning the camera toward the parents during gift-opening.
  • Ask out-of-town guests to ship gifts to the parents' home rather than the venue, so nothing has to be hauled home afterward.

Timing and planning tips

  • Many hosts send invitations four to six weeks ahead and hold the shower a month or two before the due date. Treat both as rules of thumb that leave time for travel plans and for the parents to sort through gifts.
  • Ask the parent-to-be what they would like on the menu rather than guessing; they may be avoiding certain foods right now.
  • Plus-ones are set to one per guest. Raise the limit for a co-ed or family-style shower, or turn them off for a small gathering of close friends.
  • After the shower, export the guest list to give the parents a head start on thank-you notes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I link the gift registry on the RSVP page?

There's no registry connection, but you can type the registry details into the description โ€” the store and the name it's under โ€” so guests see them with everything else.

How do video guests RSVP?

Ask them to choose Going and write "joining by video" in their message. On the day, post the call link as an update on the event page. If you'd rather keep that link away from anyone the invitation might be forwarded to, add an event password.

Can the other hosts see who has replied?

Yes. Anyone with the link can follow the RSVPs unless you turn on "hide names". In that case only the organizer sees names, and can print the list or export it as a CSV to share.

Do guests need an account or email to RSVP?

No. Guests tap the link, choose Going, Maybe or Can't make it, and type their name and an optional message. Each guest also gets a private link to change their reply later.

Can I reuse this page for a sprinkle or a second shower?

Yes. Duplicate the event to start a new page with the same setup, then change the date, place and hosts.
