Game Day Potluck Sign-Up Sheet
A watch party potluck lives or dies by the snack table. Without a list, you get three bags of tortilla chips, no salsa and nobody bringing ice. With one, every guest can see what's covered before they hit the store.
This template is built for eating in front of a screen: wings and sliders, hot dips, finger food, a couple of sides and desserts for halftime. Change the lines to fit your crowd, then drop the link in the group chat. Each guest claims a line and notes the dish in a few seconds.

Time the food around the game
- Ask everyone to arrive with food ready about 30 minutes before kickoff. Nobody wants to be in the kitchen during the first drive.
- Plan two waves: savory food out before the game, desserts and coffee at halftime. Put that in the description so the dessert people know they can arrive a little later.
- Slow cookers keep chili, meatballs and hot dips warm all game. Have a power strip ready, since a few slow cookers can use up a kitchen's outlets quickly.
- Set the food up away from the walkway to the TV, so people refilling plates aren't blocking the screen.
Food that works in front of a TV
Watch party food gets eaten standing up, on a couch, or with one hand while the other holds a drink. The best dishes are:
- Bite-sized: wings, meatballs, sliders, pinwheels and anything on a toothpick.
- Dippable: one or two hot dips plus salsa and a veggie tray covers most tastes.
- Labeled: a note on the dip that says "spicy" or "mild" saves a few surprised guests.
- Not all meat: make sure at least one main or dip is vegetarian. Add a line for it if your group needs one.
Keep the "how many" numbers in line with your headcount. For a big crowd, raise the wings and dips first. They always go first.
Drinks, ice and the things people forget
- Ice goes faster than anyone expects. Give it its own line, and a second one for a big crowd.
- Put out a trash can and a recycling bin where people eat, not just in the kitchen.
- Have something good to drink for people who aren't drinking: sparkling water, soda or a pitcher of iced tea.
- If alcohol is part of the party, make sure everyone has a ride home before the game ends, not after.
- Paper towels and wet wipes earn their keep the moment the wings come out.
Frequently asked questions
Do guests need an account or email to sign up?
No. They open the link, type a name and pick a line. No app and no sign-in.
What if two people want to bring the same dip?
Once "Hot dip" has as many takers as you asked for, it shows as full and the next person picks something else. The notes show exactly which dips are already coming.
Can I use one sheet for every game this season?
One sheet per game works better, since the crowd and the menu change from week to week. Set up the first one, then duplicate it for the next game and change the date. The old sheets show who brought what, so you can spread the work around.
Can someone who doesn't cook still sign up?
Yes. Drinks, ice, chips and the paper goods are on the list for exactly that, and they can grab them on the way over.
