Halloween Class Party Sign-Up Sheet

The class Halloween party is usually one afternoon of costumes, a craft, a game or two and a snack, run by a few parent volunteers and a teacher with a plan. As room parent, you gather the snacks and supplies, line up helpers for each activity, and keep it all inside the school's rules.

This template splits the party into snacks, supplies, stations and helpers, with lines for non-food treats so every kid can join in. Swap in whatever the teacher has planned, then send the link home the way your class usually shares news. Parents claim a line by typing their name, with no app to install.

Halloween rules to check with the teacher

  • Costumes. Many schools ban masks, toy weapons and anything gory, and some only allow costumes for the parade. Find out if kids change at school and when.
  • The parade. If there's a costume parade, ask where it goes and whether parents can watch, then put the time in your description.
  • Photos. Lots of parents want pictures of the parade. Ask whether the school allows photos that include other students, and pass the answer along.
  • Food and volunteers. The usual classroom rules apply here too. Our classroom holiday party template walks through allergy lists and volunteer approval.

Stations that fit in a classroom

Small groups rotating through three or four stations every 10 to 15 minutes keeps a room full of excited kids moving. A few that need very little setup:

  • Mummy wrap: teams race to wrap one teammate in toilet paper. Loud, fast, and the cleanup is one trash bag.
  • Pumpkin ring toss or bowling: small pumpkins and plastic rings or a soft ball work in any classroom.
  • Craft: paper plate pumpkins, foam sticker masks or a bookmark kids can finish in one rotation.
  • Story: a fun, not-too-scary picture book read aloud gives kids a calm place to land.

Mummy wrap gets loud, so save it for last or take it to the hallway if the teacher agrees. Leave ten minutes at the end for cleanup and costume changes before the bell.

A party every kid can enjoy

Not every family celebrates Halloween, and not every kid can eat the candy. Keeping it about pumpkins, costumes and games, rather than scares, lets more kids join in, and costumes can be optional.

Non-food treats (stickers, pencils, erasers, glow sticks) mean kids with food allergies get the same goody bag as everyone else. That's the idea behind the "teal pumpkin" you may see on porches in October.

Frequently asked questions

What if our school doesn't do Halloween?

Rename the sheet "Fall Party" or "Harvest Party" and swap the costume parade for another station, like decorating paper pumpkins. The rest of the list works the same.

Should kids wear costumes to the party?

Follow the school's rules. Some schools have kids bring costumes and change after lunch, and some don't allow them at all. Say which in your description, and keep a few simple extras, like cat ears or a paper crown, for kids who forget.

What non-food treats work in goody bags?

Stickers, pencils, erasers, mini notepads, bookmarks and glow sticks are easy to find in bulk. Ask parents to send them already divided into bags, or have a helper fill the bags during setup.

How do I reach parents who don't check the group text?

Print the QR code on a half-sheet flyer and send it home in backpacks. Parents scan it, type a name and claim a line.

Can I reuse this for the winter party?

Yes. Duplicate the event, rename it and swap the items, or start from the classroom holiday party template.
