New Year's Eve Party Invitation with RSVP
A New Year's Eve party runs later than any other party of the year, which changes what you need to know from guests. Besides who is coming, it helps to know who is bringing kids, who might stay over, and whether everyone has a way home after midnight.
This template is an RSVP for a New Year's Eve party with plus-ones turned on and a description that asks guests to mention overnight plans and rides. Add the start time, address and what you're serving, then send the link by text or in a group chat. Guests reply with just a name.
What's on the sheet
This is the starting point. Rename, add or remove anything before you share it.
Ring in the new year with us! Doors open at 8, and we'll count down at midnight with something sparkling.
Please RSVP and add your plus-ones. Bringing kids, hoping to stay over, or need a ride home? Say so in your message.
It's a late night, so please plan your ride home before you come.

Getting everyone home safely
- Ask guests to sort out their ride before they arrive, and put that in the description so it isn't a surprise at 12:30.
- Rideshares can be scarce and expensive right after midnight. Guests who plan to use one may want to leave a little early or a little late.
- Have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks, water and food out after midnight, not just before.
- If you have the space, offer a couch or an air mattress. Guests can tell you in their RSVP message if they'd like to stay.
If kids are coming
Many families with young kids do an early countdown, at 8 or 9 PM, timed to a video of an earlier time zone's midnight or simply on your own count. Kids get the noisemakers and the cheer, and they're in bed before the grown-up countdown.
Set up a quiet room with a movie and sleeping bags for the kids who don't make it to midnight. Ask parents to note their kids' ages in their RSVP message so you know whether to plan for toddlers or teens.
Food for a long night
A New Year's Eve party usually runs four or five hours, so plan food in waves rather than one big meal: appetizers when people arrive, something more filling around 10, and a late-night snack after midnight. If guests are bringing food, make a separate potluck sheet and add its link to your description. If you stay up late hosting, a simple New Year's Day breakfast for overnight guests is a nice touch.
Frequently asked questions
Can guests tell me they want to stay over?
Yes. The RSVP has a message box, and the description asks guests to mention it there. You see every message in the organizer view, so you can count air mattresses before the day.
Can I collect snacks and drinks on the same page?
An RSVP tracks who is coming, not what they bring. Make a potluck sheet for food and drinks, then put its link in the party description so guests find both in one place.
How many plus-ones should I allow?
This template allows two, which covers a partner and a kid or a friend. Raise it for a family party, or turn plus-ones off for a fixed guest list. You can change it from the organizer view after the invitation goes out.
How do I let everyone know about a change on the day?
Post an organizer update. It shows at the top of the party page, and guests who turned on notifications get it on their phone, which is handy for a parking change or a later start time.
